Feature · Stage 2, Map the book

Every invented word your story created, no AI involved.

Pattern matching checks capitalisation, punctuation, and word shape against two dictionaries, so what is left standing is your own invented vocabulary, made up of names, places, technology, and concepts.

How it works

Shape and dictionaries, not a language model.

1

Candidate phrases are studied for shape

Capitalisation, punctuation, and the words surrounding each phrase all factor into whether it looks like a coined term.

2

Two dictionaries filter out ordinary words

Every candidate is checked against a standard English dictionary and a curated second word list, so common words never reach the final list.

3

What is left is sorted and de-duplicated

Your invented vocabulary, alphabetised and ready to refine with the detection controls or the duplicate checker.

Use cases

Every genre has a vocabulary of its own.

Fantasy

Catches invented place names and titles such as “The Hollow Myth.”

Sci-fi

Finds technology and ship-class names such as “Brenody-Class Vessel.”

Historical fiction

Picks out period-specific proper nouns and organisations.

LitRPG

Surfaces game-system terms and stat names that read as invented words.

FAQ

Questions about the extraction engine.

Does this use AI, or send my manuscript to a third party?

No. Detection is pattern matching only. No AI model or language model reads your text, and it is never passed to any third-party service. Your file is processed in memory on our own server for the length of the scan and never stored.

Will it catch every term?

Rule-based detection catches the large majority on a first pass. Add specific include or exclude patterns to refine the rest.

Does it work for genres without invented words?

Yes. Anything with recurring proper nouns or specialised vocabulary benefits, including historical fiction and litRPG.

How is this different from searching for capital letters?

Capitalisation is the starting signal, but a dictionary comparison, punctuation cleanup, and plural and duplicate logic all run afterwards to cut ordinary words and noise out of the list.
