Earn 50% on every pass you refer.
The Novel Kit runs 42 checks over a finished draft: names spelled two ways, terms the book never explains, details that drift between chapters.
Refer a reader and you earn 50% of the pass they buy, with 90-day attribution and a discount code for your audience.
What you get
50% of their purchase
Paid on what the customer was charged, in the currency they paid in. An annual plan earns more than a short pass; your dashboard shows each sale. On a plan that renews you are paid on the first payment, not on the renewals.
90-day attribution
Anyone who opens your link is credited to you for 90 days, so a purchase weeks later still counts.
A code for your audience
We can issue a discount code in your name, 20% off by default. A purchase using it is credited to you even if your link was never opened.
What each plan pays
| Pass | List price | You earn |
|---|---|---|
| Final Check | $16.99 / £13.99 | $8.49 / £6.99 |
| Revision Pass (most popular) | $24.99 / £19.99 | $12.49 / £9.99 |
| Prolific / Series Author | $89.99 / £74.99 | $44.99 / £37.49 |
| Editor | $199.99 / £149.99 | $99.99 / £74.99 |
| Editor Pro | $599.99 / £479.99 | $299.99 / £239.99 |
These are 50% of the current list price. You are paid 50% of what the customer was actually charged, so a purchase using your discount code earns 50% of the discounted total. The three annual plans renew; you are paid on the first payment only, and a renewal a year later earns nothing further. Editor and Editor Pro are the professional tiers: the same tool at higher volume, licensed for editors who check other people's manuscripts.
Who it suits
Writing channels on YouTube and TikTok, where a scan of a real manuscript is easy to show on camera.
Author newsletters and writing-craft mailing lists.
Writing coaches and book coaches whose clients bring consistency problems to fix.
Line and copy editors collating invented names and terms across a manuscript.
Self-publishing blogs and tool-review sites. Our writing-software index is free to cite.
Writing groups, drafting challenges, critique circles and Discord servers.
People who teach Scrivener, Atticus, Plottr and the rest. It reads a book's invented vocabulary rather than its prose, so it sits alongside them.
Craft and indie-publishing shows, where a spoken discount code works better than a link.
How it works
-
Apply
The form is at the bottom of this page. We usually reply within a couple of days.
-
Open the link in our reply
Opening the invitation takes you straight in, and your link, code and dashboard are ready. There is no password to choose and no key to keep: after that you sign in whenever you like by asking for a link to the address you applied with.
-
Share your link and your code
Anyone who opens your link stays credited to you for 90 days. A purchase using your discount code is credited to you even if they never opened your link.
-
We pay you monthly
You earn 50% of the pass each person you referred buys. Sales in one month are paid by the end of the next: January's are due on 1 February and paid before February ends, by bank transfer, once your balance passes $5 or £5. There is nothing to invoice or claim.
Enough to make something before you have written a word.
Useful resources
The sample scan on our home page runs in a browser with nothing to upload. The feature pages show each report.

Things you can link to
Your link works on any page here, not only the home page: the tool, a single feature, an article, the software index. Your dashboard shows you the variants and you can build your own by adding ?ref= and your code to any address on this site.
Terms
- 50% of their first purchase. The plan a reader you referred buys earns you a commission. Later purchases by the same reader do not, and neither do the renewals of a plan that renews.
- Last link wins. If a reader arrives on your link and then on another partner's before buying, the most recent one is credited.
- Sales in one month are paid by the end of the next. Everything you refer in January is due on 1 February and paid before February ends, by bank transfer, once your balance passes $5 or £5 in that currency. Below the minimum it rolls into the following month.
- A balance under the minimum that nothing is added to for 6 months is closed. This only applies below $5 or £5: any balance at or above it is paid, however long ago it was earned, and one new sale restarts the clock on the whole balance. We will always pay you instead if you ask before the date.
- You cannot refer yourself. Buying a pass through your own link, or having someone in your household do it, is not a referral.
- No bidding on our name. Please do not buy paid search on The Novel Kit, Glossary Generator, or close variants of either.
- No coupon or voucher sites.
- Disclose the partnership the way your platform requires, and do not claim the tool does something it does not. Every check it runs is described on the features pages.
- Refunds and chargebacks reverse a commission.
- Either of us can leave. No minimum term and no exclusivity. Anything already earned is still paid.
The questions partners actually ask.
How small is too small?
There is no follower threshold. A critique group of forty people who are all mid-draft is a better fit for this than a general writing account with a hundred thousand followers, and we would rather judge the audience than the number.
What counts as a referral?
Someone arriving on a link carrying your code, or buying with your discount code. The link puts a short marker in their browser for 90 days. It records nothing about them, and nothing is shared with any third party.
What about the annual plans that renew?
You are paid on the first payment. A renewal twelve months later is not a new referral and earns nothing further, which is why the table above prices each plan once.
How do I sign in?
Enter the address you applied with and we e-mail you a link straight into your dashboard. There is no password and nothing to keep safe. We keep you signed in on that browser for a month.
Can I see what my link is doing?
Yes. Your dashboard shows referred visitors by day, every sale credited to you, what each one earned, and what is owed. It shows you nothing about the people themselves, because we do not record anything about them to show you.
Do I need to be an author?
No, but you do need an audience of them. This is a tool for a specific problem at a specific stage of a book, and it does not land with a general audience.
Does it compete with the tools I already recommend?
Rarely. Grammar checkers read sentences; this reads the vocabulary a book invented, and none of the writing software people teach does this job. Our software index sets Novel Kit beside the other tools authors use without pretending it wins everywhere.
Is there an API or a bulk feed?
Not yet. It is in the pipeline; until then the dashboard is the interface. If you want it sooner, or need a figure the dashboard does not show, e-mail and ask.
